Columnist Ralph Gardner Jr. Spends a Night at the Fights but Misses the Best Action I’ll say this for the boxing card at Webster Hall in the East Village last week—I’ve never had better seats at a boxing match. “When you’re next to the canvas, you get a lot of sweat and some Vaseline,” my host, Gabe Oppenheim, explained as we nudged into our front-row seats. Mr. Oppenheim, the author of a new book titled “Boxing in Philadelphia” (Rowman & Littlefield), neglected to mention blood.
