Junior Wright aims to push closer to WBSS cruiserweight winner this Friday

For the talented 31-year-old Wright, a victory would spell another shot at a world championship. But when a fighter is coming into a Russian fighter’s hometown, that isn’t always easy. Still, Wright and his trainer Rick Wilson have spent eight weeks preparing for this fight, believing that Junior is coming back to US with the victory. “Fighters come from the US to fight in Russia they all come home with a bad story,” said Wright, “but we’re not. Miller believes Wladimir Klitschko, if he would have been a few years younger, would have blasted Joshua out. “Most definitely [I’d welcome him to the USA]. I’d be happy to knock Joshua out,” said Miller to Sky […]

The unbeaten big man – very big, in every sense of the word: big in size and weight, big in personality, big in punching power – stopped Gerald Washington after eight largely one-sided rounds. Now 19-0-1(17) Miller, tipping-in at a career-high poundage, and fighting for the first time in 11 months, raised eyebrows with his weight. Still, as heavy as he was last night, Miller appeared to have absolutely no stamina issues, his punch output quite remarkable for such a big, big man – especially remarkable […]
