Heavyweight contender Jarrell Miller believes he would crumble IBO, WBA, IBF world champion Anthony Joshua in seven or eight rounds.
And he is also confident in his ability to blow out British heavyweight Dillian Whyte, who returns to the ring on August 19th as part of the Terence Crawford-Julius Indongo undercard in Nebraska. The fight will be Whyte’s American debut.
Last Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Miller picked up his biggest career win with a stoppage victory over Gerald Washington.
Miller believes Wladimir Klitschko, if he would have been a few years younger, would have blasted Joshua out.
“Most definitely [I’d welcome him to the USA]. I’d be happy to knock Joshua out,” said Miller to Sky Sports. “As soon as they want to fight in America, I’d be the first to jump at that fight. And I guarantee I’d knock him out inside seven or eight rounds.
“These guys have tried to ignore me but, after my last performance, I’m on the map. I was unfazed and untouched, so whenever these guys want it, they can get it! He broke in the [Wladimir] Klitschko fight. He was broken, he was done. But Klitschko was too old.”
And Miller has no problem with fighting Whyte to get to Joshua – because he believes there isn’t much to worry about when it comes to Whyte.
“I guarantee you that Dillian would have a harder time with Washington than I did,” Miller told Sky Sports. “People said I’m a slugger – have you watched any of my fights? I out-box guys, I box on the inside. Dillian is a slugger.
“There are times when I slug it out but he can’t throw combinations like I can. He isn’t as slick as I am. I would knock Dillian out way worse than Anthony Joshua did. I guarantee you that. Dillian can say what he wants but he doesn’t want to see me in the ring. I can promise you that.”
